What is a membership really costing you?

The honest number is per visit you actually make, not per month.

Why per visit is the number that matters

A membership is sold as a monthly price, which is the one figure that tells you least. Twelve months at $65 is $780 either way; whether that was cheap depends entirely on whether you went twice a week or twice a quarter. Priced per visit, the same membership is either good value or the most expensive workout you have ever bought.

A month here is 365 ÷ 12 ÷ 7 weeks, not four. Treating a month as four weeks overstates the weekly cost by about 8% — small, but this site's whole argument is that it does not make quiet errors in its own arithmetic.

We do not publish prices for named clubs. Membership pricing changes constantly, varies by contract length and is negotiated at the counter; a specific figure attached to a specific gym would be a fiction dressed as data. Use your own quote — that is the only number that is true.
